This site was originally created to promote my book 101 MUST-SEE MOVIES FOR GAY MEN, but we've expanded things a bit to talk about other things I've got going on. Thanks for dropping by, and please take a look around.
Besides writing 101, I'm also a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and I spent six years as Arts & Entertainment editor at The Advocate, where I'm still a contributing writer. My writing has also appeared in the Village Voice, Movieline, Detour, and such fine, no-longer-in-existence publications as Planet Homo and the Dallas Times Herald. In my non-journalist life, I served as Artistic Director for the USA Film Festival/Dallas for five years; I'm still a consultant for them, so if you hear of any cool new indie movies interested in being presented at one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious film fests, let me know.
I've spent the last few years traveling to queer film festivals around the country with my "101 Must-See Movies for Gay Men" clip show and discussion, but it's always nice to come home to West Hollywood, California, where I share a funky, rent-controlled apartment with my partner Dave White (whose book EXILE IN GUYVILLE is pretty darn hilarious).
